Got Monogamy?

Hurrah! Crankmama and I have just recorded the first segment of our new show, The Hot Spot at blog talk radio, on the topic of Monogamy: Is it a crock?. It was a pretty damned steamy little show, if I do say so myself. Hang with it… we had some blips but most of the information is there. If you want to hear more about sluts, polyamory and what to do to cure marital restlessness press play here:

Did you like the show? Did it give you food for thought, or did you simply think we sounded like a couple of hot MILFs? Please add your thoughts below.

Hey! I'm halfway through your radio show. It's great!

I have to save the rest for tomorrow 'cos I need to be up and out early tomorrow and it's 12.30pm right now.

Well done! It's a great topic that ought to be talked about more. Kudos!

Back for part 2 tomorrow. Night.

Beats womans hour on bbc radio 4!

Well done you two so keep em coming.

You both sounded very natural and good to listen to....both fun and serious at the same time....the sort of people I can imagine having a great laugh with down the pub while getting steadily smashed.

You chose a hot topic and one that needs exploring more with the sort of honesty you are not afraid of expressing on air. It was refreshing to hear.

I felt at one or two points that it could've almost stalled and that maybe you needed to have a couple of other angles to come at the topic from to nudge it along. But then again, don't prepare it TOO much, as it's the spontanaity that makes it so listenable.

My own take? We're a dumb mix of genes and intellect us humans. Genetically I think we're probably predisposed to be non-monogamous. The males to spread wild oats, and the females to go gene shopping. It's the costs and the consequences both economically and emotionally, to our families and our lives that probably pull (a lot of us) back from behaving as we might really wish to. And..as you pointed out..scratching the itch can turn out to be...well, just damned dangerous.

Having said that....I own to scratching the itch more than once and I'm dying to tell you all about.....nope..*grabs security blanket* *sqirms in embarrasment*...can't do it!...

On the one hand I can understand why, for some people, they will feel that their partner cannot provide them with everything they need. On the other hand, I find the thought of trying to give a number of partners what they need way beyond daunting.

I enjoyed the radio show. You are naturals.

Well done.

This is a subject that certainly needs lots of discussion, especially here in the pseudo-puritanical United States.

Yes, you sound like a pair of MILF hotties making radio with no knickers on. Loved the discussion!

Haven't had a chance to hear it through, but would love to be on at some point in the future. After all, the damn blog's called "polyamorously perverse"!

sam...thanks for the compliment. Yes, I think it went rather well.

tkkerouac...thanks babe!

clodhopper...very interesting points you make, maybe one day you will be able to reveal just how you scratched that itch.

moobs...trust you to think of it like that. I was thinking of sleeping with others purely for my own sexual gratification!

gunfighter...yes, I do hope I have got some of the moral majority steamed up over this topic.

monmouth...thanks, yes we are a saucy pair, I wasn't wearing knickers, I think Rachael was wearing a thong ;)

tom paine...if only I had thought to ask you to phone in...a resident polyamory expert!!

Next time email me, we can perhaps work something out. You might even get C. to participate. That would be, well, interesting.... Hmmm.
